Simple Pleasure: Wally Yachts' Contemporary Classic ESENSE
In scientific circles, an elegant solution is one taking the simplest path to the best result. In yachting, that path leads directly to Wally Yachts. Inspired by innovative founder and president Luca Bassani Antivari, seafaring craft bearing the Wally brand are stripped of idle excess, maintaining abundance in all that makes sailing an exquisite joy.
Cruising through a world of superlatives, the Wally 143 sloop ESENSE is immediately set apart from the pack by the signature profile. Dovetailing the sleek, exterior design by Luca Bassani with purposeful naval architecture from Bill Tripp and chic interiors by Odile Decq, ESENSE is a balanced presentation of form and function. Bassani, twice winning the prestigious Compasso D'Oro prize for industrial design, held nothing back in creating this high performance vision.
By the Numbers: Naval Architecture and Engineering
Tripp Naval Design is responsible for the hydrodynamics of the yacht. All the design has been developed by Wally, while the interiors by Odile Decq; while attending to every essential ingredient that makes a yacht worthy of the Wally brand. At 43.70 m/143'4", her length puts her in the good company of many fast cruising sloops, measuring just 38.10 m at the waterline. Beautiful curves and a slim beam of 8.57m/28'1" lend an additional competitive, graceful edge.
ESENSE maintains a 140 ton/308,647 lb displacement, carrying 40 tonnes/88,100 lbs in ballast. Supporting travel by sail, a 549 hp, single screw Caterpillar diesel engine slips ESENSE through the water at a speed of 14 kts. Superior rigging is appointed with a Navtec system, and the mast sports Hall spars. A lifting keel miraculously reduces draft from 6m/19'8" to 4m/13'.1", ensuring performance remains high when navigating shallower routes.
