Vitters Shipyard and Oceanco have announced the launch of a new 85-meter sailing yacht currently going by the name P85. The two companies came together to build a truly unique sailing yacht that matches exceptional performance standards despite its large size. The companies received further assistance from Naval Architect Tripp Design. Dölker + Voges contributed to P85's interior design.
Experienced sailors might balk at the idea of captaining an 85-meter yacht. Bringing together so many specialists, however, made it possible for the architects to approach the project from a unique perspective. The groups successfully built a large yacht that behaves like a considerably smaller vessel, making it easier to control. P85 uses a new steering system developed by Vitters Shipyard. The system relies on hydrodynamic forces that let the rudder blades communicate seamlessly with the steering wheel. This makes it possible for the helmsman to make adjustments in real time for optimal comfort.
The yacht's interior is dominated by large, open spaces that blend with outdoor deck areas. She also has plenty of private areas for the owner and his guests. With four decks, the yacht offers more than enough space for private use and socializing.
