What was known as Project Alba was just recently christened in the Netherlands as VanTom, and it seems the design team at Heesen could not be more proud. The owner was very involved in the design process, and had the tremendous privilege of working with world-renowned designers Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini.
The design team sought to simultaneously incorporate that which has been proven to work in the past alongside the modern amenities that have revitalized an international interest in yachting. The traditional interior layout features custom furniture made of the finest wood available, room for twelve passengers spread out over six cabins, a master stateroom, and an uncompromising commitment to aesthetics.
The ship’s sleek, dynamic, and well-engineered exterior functions as an ode to what Heesen is able to create. Despite being a relatively large yacht—50 meters long—she is still capable of achieving a remarkable maximum speed of 23 knots.
Following a successful delivery, the owners already have some ambitious plans lined up for the immediate future. Despite the fact it is already winter, they plan to test her capabilities by cruising around the North Sea. With state-of-the-art performance features and a range of 3,100 miles, this upcoming adventure will quite likely be a major success.
