Wider 49m Cecilia

Cecilia; Where Italian Craft Meets Modern Tech

After her red carpet unveiling at the 2018 Monaco Boat Show, Superyacht Cecilia made quite the statement. Rumors of her sea trials last year were delivered with excitable words like ‘astounding,’ and the reality of her presence left yacht connoisseurs enchanted by her elongated 49.56-meter shape. Dreamed into existence by WIDER, and the largest of their range, despite her soft-spoken name, Cecilia is nothing short of a tour de force.

Carved with Italian grace at WIDER’s Ancona shipyard, her aluminum exterior forms an attractive silhouette when glimpsed out on the water. It’s no surprise that she makes for such eye candy offshore when you know that the WIDER design team worked in collaboration with Fulvio de Simoni along with naval architect Sydac - a powerhouse team to say the least.

Cleaner, Greener Cruising

When it comes to stats, Cecilia certainly has the numbers, as you would expect from the company responsible for the reduced carbon footprint charm of 47m Bartali delivered back in 2017. WIDER are truly carving a path across the water as bringing eco-conscious solutions to the table, an attractive quality as the number of superyacht owners seeking greener solutions is ever growing.

Cecilia’s diesel-electric propulsion system is sublimely supported by 544kwh Lithium Polymer batteries, and with the added allure of azimuthal pods – the whole set up means that Cecilia enjoys heightened reliability and high-level fuel efficiency. She has a long-range fuel consumption of 69 liters. Her most ecological speed sits comfortably at 9 knots, giving her a wide range of 5000nm. Comfortable cruising can be enjoyed at 11.7 knots as she slices through the water, and for those top-level speeds, she can hit 13 knots without a ripple.

Not only does her lower fuel consumption mean that she is greener in nature, but guests can revel in the fact that there will be no rumblings, exhaust plumes, and fuel heavy smells while at anchor. It’s all sun, saltwater and the sweet scent of lemons.
Furthermore, the usual engine room has been replaced with a power generator room in the bow, freeing up lashings of space for extended guest cabins, along with better stability at sea. Guests are also sure to enjoy the fact that Cecilia can run on batteries alone when it comes to slower speeds, making early escapes soft, silent and easy without the need for the captain to run the generators – dreamy for a lazy morning lie in. Cecilia truly is showcasing the future of what yachting technology can do.
