The German boatbuilding firm Abeking & Rasmussen has launched a futuristic and iconic 80-meter superyacht, Excellence.
With a startling brief from the owner that their latest creation must be 'extraordinary' as well as offering a 'seamless feeling of connection and openness' to the outside world - the designers have conjured up an impressive and striking creation which does not disappoint.
The boatbuilders teamed up with British studio Winch Design to create a superstructure which is so unique that she promises, the innovative creators say, 'to be unlike anything that has come before.'
Her striking and angular reverse bow offers a silhouette that compares with a spaceship and will assertively cut through ocean waters.
The exterior lines help to draw the eye to the bridge and the owner's decks, which have been surrounded by a curved floor to ceiling mirror glass on all sides. The largest panel of these is a staggering six meters in length.
The statement glass also reaches 180° around the master suite, so the sleeping guests can awake in the morning fully immersed in their peaceful surroundings.
Impressive and fitting match for her iconic exterior
Winch Design also penned the interior of the Excellence, which is a remarkable and fitting match for her iconic exterior.
The design offers the perfect opportunity for indulgent relaxation, and she features a swimming pool and platform as well as a sprawling beach club, Jacuzzi and impressive limousine tenders.
To ensure that when she is anchored, and will be as smooth as a 'spaceship that is floating in orbit,' the Excellence is fitted with zero-speed stabilizers which will work when the superyacht is stationary.
The stabilizers will also help provide maximum comfort even when she's cruising through rough waters.
The boatbuilders say that the Excellence 'smashes the mold' and they promise that she will turn as many heads in 20 years' time as she will do today.
A new era in superyacht design
Excellence certainly brings forward a new era in superyacht design with her striking bow and her visionary and industry disrupting layout.
After her launch, she underwent sea trials in Germany and is the latest in a line of custom motor yachts that carry the same name.
Excellence will carry out further sea trials in the North Sea where her propulsion tests will take place amongst other operations, and she is scheduled for summer delivery in time for the season.
