There are many ways to build a superyacht. There is only one way to build a Feadship: Yours.
Creating a pure custom Feadship masterpiece requires introspection. Working with an owner to identify what is truly desired, Feadship establishes the way forward to design, build, and deliver every detail in support of that goal, without compromise.
The result? A yacht that acts as an extension of the owner. A vessel that stands ready to serve, present at all the most important events and celebrations, from intimate family gatherings to lavish parties. A respite that quietly performs its duties with exceptional competence, focused on individual lifestyle, family, and dreams. A yacht that expresses and epitomizes your values and accomplishments.
“If you wish to build a ship, do not divide the men into teams and send them to the forest to cut wood. Instead, teach them to long for the vast and endless sea.”—concept attributed to Antoine Saint-Exupéry
Becoming Real: Manifesting Your Vision
An experienced owner looking to build a new yacht suitable for round-the-globe cruising with three generations of his family. After an extensive search, he selected Feadship for its commitment to building a bespoke yacht of uncompromising quality.
Beginning with the concept that everything is possible, Feadship applied knowledge and expertise from its past, dovetailing it with technology and innovation from current, top-of-industry craftsmen, and an eye on the future for every aspect of the build of a carte blanche, authentically custom yacht.
That did not mean the answer to every question was “yes.” It meant that every possibility was explored to translate an individual vision to reality in the most efficient, most effective, and most elegant way.
The owner chose Studio De Voogt for exterior styling and naval architecture. Feadship’s longstanding history with Studio De Voogt has led more than half of the yacht builds taking that design path. Known for innovation, Studio de Voogt is the world’s third-largest design studio of exteriors for custom superyachts over 45 meters.
Although the roots of these shipbuilders reach back to the Netherlands circa 1849, the Feadship name itself is an abbreviation for First Export Association of Dutch Shipbuilders, officially announced in 1949.
That new unit brought together Holland’s most impressive yacht-building industry companies, Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw, and Royal Van Lent Shipyard. Working frequently with both the De Vries and Van Lent yards before the formation of Feadship, Henri De Voogt set up his own studio in 1913. It wasn’t until 1950 that De Voogt became part of the Feadship organization.
The De Voogt studio’s style is fluid, intently listening to each owner’s needs and wants to design a boat unique to that owner. Inspiration may come from concepts or trends, but the end result is a distinctive, bespoke yacht reflecting the owner’s dreams—a truly custom, one-of-a-kind yacht in every sense of the word.
