Following an Extensive Refit
The 97-meter Carinthia VII has left the Lürssen facilities in Hamburg and been redelivered to her delighted owners. After being in the same hands for 20 years, with only a handful of people ever seeing the inside of this world famous yacht, she has been carefully refitted for her new owner, who bought her in 2022, to ensure she remains at the forefront of the yachting industry.
The refit was extensive and included both interior and exterior changes. The most visible change is the new 11-meter pool on the main deck. An amazing glass front allows for a stunning participation between the swimming pool and the dining space, and there is generous access via a brand new staircase.
Inside, the refit focused on updating the yacht's amenities and technology while maintaining her classic elegance. The two new large lounge sofas on both sides of the main deck salon are designed as a single unit, derived from the idea of giving all guests the comfortable feeling of a hug. The specially designed carpet emphasizes the unified interpretation of this space. The walls, like most areas of the yacht, have been adorned with new fabrics from an artisan manufacturer in Venice.
On the upper deck, the owner's deck, the aft outdoor deck was equipped with a teppanyaki round bar. It is the perfect deck to unwind on during the day. The club lounge is a gathering space that harks back to the golden era of entertainment and is the perfect place to relax after dinner.
The bridge deck aft has undergone one of the biggest changes on board and is now home to a fully air-conditioned, 85-square-metre gym, housing a plethora of top of the range professional fitness equipment. Six tons of glass were used to create this floating winter garden.
The sundeck was redesigned and received new seating, a large new dining table for 14, a cocktail bar and another bar with inbuilt barbecue - the perfect informal place to entertain guests.
The newly designed spa area offers direct access to the sea through the side terrace and is the perfect place for a massage or workout. There is also a beautiful bijoux beauty salon, complete with nail desk, pedicure station and retractable hairdresser station. The spa’s lobby has been adorned with Calacatta marble, giving it a distinctive and dramatic appearance. Completing the wellness area is the steam room, where the original ornate mosaic has been meticulously preserved.
Finally, Carinthia VII received a full paintjob. The original blue colour has been changed in favour of Majestic Blue, while the superstructure was painted in Matterhorn White. The external deck walls were painted in Shark Grey, to highlight her sleek, long lines.
In addition to the cosmetic changes, Carinthia VII also received a number of technical upgrades, including new zero speed Quantum XT stabilizers, new rescue boat crane, and new “Fire Off” fire suppression system.
This extensive refit is a testament to Lürssen's commitment to excellence and its ability to deliver even the most complex projects. Carinthia VII is now better than ever and is sure to provide her new owner with many years of enjoyment.
