The name Najiba is a traditional name meaning noble. From the moment you lay eyes on Feadship’s newest yachting masterpiece, it becomes immediately apparent that this ship was appropriately named. As you examine every square inch, every careful choice, and every attention to detail, it is clear that Feadship maintains a strong sense of nobility regarding everything they create.
At first glance, Najiba places herself in a class of her own. The yacht is 58 meters (190.25 feet) long and is also able to boast an impressive beam of 11 meters. Her elegant curves, bourgeoisies interior, and swiftness on the water are just a few of the reasons why her recent launch can be considered a success.
Providing a Personal Touch
The current owners of Najiba have had a substantial amount of experience in the yachting industry, meaning that expectations going into the project would inevitably be high. However, once she was successfully launched and ready to explore the world, it was evident that the team at Feadship would not only meet expectations, but also demonstrate their ability to address the unique needs of their clients.
According to Peter Wilson, the owners “had seen Feadship quality in other yachts, hence the long-held dream to develop one of their own. Even so, the owners and their extended family could not believe their eyes when the final result was revealed to them.” The clients are also notable enthusiasts of naval architecture and interior design. Consequently, the described “complex interior with numerous unique features” helps provide Najiba with a distinct personality of her own.
Collaborating in Pursuit of Perfection
The crafting of this masterpiece was beautifully orchestrated by the experts at Feadship, with significant input from the owners. However, in order to create the final product, Feadship teamed up with multiple other parties.
The astoundingly beautiful naval architecture was a synergized outcome of Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects and Philippe Briand. With Vitruvius Yachts in charge of the exterior styling, Claudio Cicconetti Architetto managing the interior GA development, and Liaigre perfecting the interior design scheme, those involved in the yachting community certainly knew they had a lot to look forward to.
Setting New Standards for the Industry
It seems that perhaps the greatest virtue of Najiba’s supporting team was their willingness to think outside the box and redefine what a yacht can entail. The team utilized several “non-traditional” measures including an incredibly open floorplan, a central staircase tucked out of view, and the use of unique angles and curves in the yacht’s various ceilings.
Najiba is proudly recognized as the “second largest Feadship built in aluminium (sic) to date.” As the company moves forward and tries to continue redefining the ways that modern yachts are designed, there is no doubt that Najiba will remain a frequently cited source of inspiration.
