Donald Starkey began his career as an architect and was involved in a number of large projects from the age of 23. By the early 80s, he changed his orientation a began working in the field of yacht design. He has been inspired by icons who have become classics of today like Le Corbusier, Coco Chanel, or Miles Van Der Rohe. Since 1989, Starkey has designed some of the world's finest and most elegant yachts and has won more than 25 Design Awards.
Starkey's design team is recognised for their expertise in the planning, styling and interior design of large motor yachts. Thanks to their excellent work, they have called the attention of leading yacht builders around the world and have contributed to the success of several yards. The Donald Starkey luxurious studio is based in Dubai, and has an impressive portfolio of high-class a timeless luxury yachts, including the 40 metre Allogante and the Feadship 65 metre Trident, both launched in 2009.
