DeBasto Designs is a multi-disciplinary yacht design firm based in Miami, founded in 1995. Luiz de Basto, President and Chief Designer, has been involved in the yacht design field for three decades designing more than 250 boats and yachts for over 40 yards and many clients in 15 countries.

The firm specializes exclusively in the design of luxury yachts, custom and production boats, and unique commercial vessels. From the preliminary concept to space planning, exterior design, and interior design, creativity and excellence are the primary considerations, always with a constant awareness of function.

Over the years, we have been commissioned to design a wide variety of vessels in terms of size, styling, and type and involved in many refits. In practice, the degree of our involvement and responsibility changes with different projects, different yards, and different countries. One thing that doesn't change however is our interest to achieve excellence, that instinctive search for the best solution, for the ideal form, for the small detail that will take the anonymous out of the yacht, giving her its own life and presence.

We serve a global clientele, including individual yacht owners as well as shipyards and manufactures. Our designs are always a reflection of the client's needs, and we have extensive experience delivering exteriors and interiors designs. From production boats for shipyards such as Magnum Marine, Cruisers, Beneteau, Trinity, Newcastle, Hodgdon, Sea Force 9, Astondoa, Filippetti Yachts, Intermarine, Canados, Cheoy Lee, Kingship, Krogen, Lazzara and Inace, to superyachts like the award-winning 90 meters DAR, build by Oceanco, or the 103' Northland build by Burger, the 56 meters MY Insignia, the 53 meters Tala by Turquoise or the 60 meters Sea Falcon by Mondomarine.
