The fishing town of Portofino, Italy offers some of Europe’s most spectacular views. The small town’s beauty has been noted by historians for nearly 2,000 years. Today, Portofino is known as one of Italy’s top resorts, attracting celebrities and artists from all over the world.
When Ferrari’s creative directors looked for inspiration that would fuel one of their latest grand tourer cars, they understandably turned to the renowned Italian town. In homage to one of Europe’s most enchanting cities, they named their creation “Portofino.” No other name could capture the beauty, luxury, and attention to detail that embodies the Ferrari Portofino V8 GT.
Ferrari Portofino’s Reaches Unparalleled Levels of Performance
The Ferrari Portofino offers unparalleled performance that will even surprise collectors of fine automobiles. The car’s V8 engine can deliver 441 kW (591 hp) at 7,500 RPM and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft) of torque from 3,000 to 5,250 RPM. This monumental amount of power makes it possible for the Portofino to rush from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.5 seconds. When pushed to its full capacity, the Portofino surges to more than 320 km/h (199 mph).
Ferrari adapted the Portofino’s V8 engine from a designed previously included in the Ferrari California T. Engineers within Ferrari made several adjustments to the engine and chassis to add 40 PS to the original design. In addition to tweaking the V8, Ferrari developed a lightweight chassis that lets the engine’s best features shine through.
Ferrari Supports Portofino’s Power With Sophisticated Features
Powerful cars deserve advanced technologies that give drivers complete control behind the wheel. Ferrari’s engineers understand this need, so they developed several features that make the Portofino a singular driving experience.
Portofino is the first GT in its range to feature Electric Power Steering (EPS) that gives drivers exceptional control over the vehicle. Ferrari also developed an improved magnetorheological damping system that uses dual-coil technology to create a smoother driving experience with less roll.
The exterior of Portofino contributes to the vehicle’s speed and excellent control. The coupe-convertible has an aerodynamic design that includes a large radiator grille opening and an air intake system that reduces drag while keeping the car firmly rooted to the road.
Whether driving through northern Italy’s twisting mountain roads or surging down a straight highway, the Ferrari Portofino offers a driving experience unlike any other vehicle.
Sophistication and Beauty That Only Ferrari Could Create
All aspects of the Portofino include a sophistication and beauty that only Ferrari could create. Drivers and front-seat passengers get to enjoy a spacious cabin that comes with 18-way electrically adjustable seats and an infotainment system controlled by a 10.2-inch touchscreen display. Rear seats provide enough room for two passengers during short trips. Portofino even has a roomy trunk that makes it possible for travelers to carry their luggage without feeling cramped.
Portofino’s exterior has an aggressive aesthetic with contoured lines that direct airflow around the body. The sporty car has a retractable hardtop that contributes to its sporty character while giving passengers an opportunity to enjoy drives in all kinds of weather. Ferrari has even positioned Portofino’s front and tail lights in a way that manages to give the car unique characteristics that stand out even among other luxury cars.
Ferrari has a reputation for building some of the world’s most fantastic vehicles. With Portofino, the car manufacturer makes significant advances in technology and design while remaining true to its Italian roots.
