Embarking on the Tankoa 50m M/Y Jimmy (GREY) is akin to stepping into a world where opulence and sophistication blend seamlessly with cutting-edge technology and exquisite ocean living and design.
This majestic yacht is the fifth addition to Tankoa’s acclaimed S501 series and it adeptly showcases the shipyard’s commitment to engineering excellence and innovative craftsmanship. Designed by the visionary Francesco Paszkowski with interiors by Giorgio Cassetta, M/Y Jimmy redefines luxury on water and offers a sensory journey with meticulously crafted living spaces.
M/Y Jimmy is a visual masterpiece with an exterior encased in a sleek, full-aluminum construction that catches the light, reflecting the waves and sky in a dance of shimmering reflections. At just under 50 meters and 500GT, this vessel commands attention with its bold yet elegant lines; a hallmark of Paszkowski’s exterior styling. The yacht’s expansive windows have been installed with fewer mullions to provide uninterrupted and unbroken views of the ocean, creating a seamless connection between the interior and the surrounding seascape. Each pane of glass has been meticulously designed to offer the maximum possible view while maintaining structural integrity. The effect is a breathtaking panorama that allows an expansive view across the seascape from almost any vantage point inside the yacht.
The interior design of M/Y Jimmy, conceptualized by Giorgio Cassetta, is a celebration of luxury and craftsmanship. The client’s instructions were clear: deliver a result that is luxurious and rich, showcasing fine craftsmanship and exclusive materials, while maintaining a cozy, warm feeling. Cassetta and his team achieved this by breaking traditional 90-degree bulkhead angles and incorporating broken symmetries. The selection of materials is both eclectic and exquisite. Natural flamed Indian rosewood, European oak, Eucalyptus, and Blue Macaubas quartzite create a palette that is both rich and inviting. The use of Palissandro Bluette, Striato Olimpico, and Breccia Oniciata marbles adds a touch of opulence, while woven saddle leather and custom-designed soles showcase the meticulous craftsmanship. Extraordinary fabrics by Armani, Rubelli, Dedar, Filippo Uecher, and Mariaflora add layers of texture and comfort, while acoustic leather wallpapers complement the state-of-the-art sound system, creating an immersive audio experience. High-end custom light fixtures by Luce5 and a carefully curated lighting design enhance the contrasts and accentuate the interior color palettes.
Stepping onto the main deck, you are greeted by a well lit open-plan saloon and dining area, where full-height windows flood the space with bright natural light. Light and shadow interplays enhance the rich textures and materials used throughout the saloon and dining space. Natural flamed Indian rosewood and European oak create a warm, inviting ambiance, while Palissandro Bluette and Striato Olimpico marbles add a touch of grandeur to the area. The open-plan layout encourages a seamless flow from one area to the next, enhancing the feeling of space and freedom as you traverse the main deck. Soft, ambient lighting, combined with the natural illumination from the windows, creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that is both luxurious and comforting, inviting travelers and guests to stay awhile and linger in the comfort of the saloon.
Forward on the main deck the master stateroom spans the full beam of the yacht and provides yacht owners a peaceful oasis of tranquility and luxury. Two asymmetric fold-down balconies offer breathtaking ocean vistas and deftly invite the outside in, providing the perfect spot for a quiet morning coffee or an evening aperitif. A walk-in wardrobe supplies plentiful storage with understated elegance and features custom-designed storage solutions crafted from woven saddle leather, a detail that reflects the fine craftsmanship that defines every inch of this yacht. Every part of the master stateroom has been designed with comfort and luxury in mind. Plush bedding, the soft textures of the fabrics, and the gentle lighting create a space that is private, luxurious, and serene. The dual fold-down balconies are a unique touch that allow occupants to enjoy the fresh sea air and stunning views from the privacy of their own suite.
Adjacent to the master suite, the VIP suite on the main deck offers guests a sanctuary of comfort and style. The use of luxurious fabrics by Armani, Rubelli, and Dedar, combined with acoustic leather wallpapers, ensures a serene environment, enhanced by the award-winning sound system from Focal & Naim. The spaciousness of the suite, combined with its elegant design, makes it a perfect retreat.
