Ferrari’s latest one-off, the KC23, is a paradox wrapped in 21st-century aerodynamics. Sculpted for Eternity, Yet Built for Speed

Ferrari’s Special Projects program is not about making road cars or track cars. It’s about creating dreams—tangible, roaring, wildly expensive dreams—tailored for the most loyal and deep-pocketed Ferrari clientele. The KC23 is their latest creation, a vision inspired by one of Ferrari’s most passionate collectors. Based on the architecture of the 488 GT3 Evo 2020, a car that has conquered over 530 races and won 119 championships, the KC23 had some of the world’s best track-focused DNA to draw from. But the project was more than a mechanical marvel; it was also a chance for Ferrari’s design team to flex their creative muscles in ways they can’t with homologation-constrained production cars.

The KC23’s design is led by the brilliant Flavio Manzoni, Ferrari’s Chief Designer, who imagined it as a monolithic beauty. It looks as if it was sculpted from a single block of metal, and indeed, the surface treatment emphasizes flowing, seamless lines. There are no sharp angles, no aggressive intakes disrupting its form when it’s at rest. But this car is like a coiled spring—ready to snap into action at a moment’s notice. Turn on the engine, and everything changes.

The KC23 morphs. Its hidden aerodynamic solutions come to life: motorized air intakes open, the rear wing deploys, and it suddenly sheds its serene elegance to reveal the beast beneath. This is a car designed to perform two acts: a minimalist sculpture in the paddock and an aggressive predator on the track.
