Baglietto the Launch of the Fifth DOM 133 Yacht "Astera"

In an impressive display of engineering and design, Baglietto introduces a new benchmark in luxury yachting

La Spezia, Italy — In a significant addition to the world of luxury yachting, Italian shipbuilder Baglietto has officially launched "Astera," the fifth hull of their prestigious DOM 133 series. Designed by renowned architect Stefano Vafiadis, who also curated the interiors, this latest unit was first showcased in the port of Carrara before its transfer to the La Spezia shipyard for the final stages of its fitting-out process.

The ceremony, marked by the presence of the yacht's owners and their representative, Robert Lama, underscored the growing importance of the DOM 133 series in the high-end yacht market. This line, known for its innovative features and exceptional design, continues to attract elite clientele seeking both style and substance.

Distinctive Design and Luxurious Features

"M/Y Astera" stands out not only for its impressive size but also for its customized features that enhance the onboard experience. The yacht boasts a two-level beach club equipped with an infinity pool whose floor can rise to expand the space of the main deck cockpit, an exemplary feature of Baglietto's commitment to maximizing comfort and functionality.

Moreover, Hull #10246 introduces significant advancements compared to its predecessors, with a focus on creating an expansive feel throughout the yacht. The upper deck saloon features a unique window-door that opens to two side balconies, providing an open-air ambiance that seamlessly integrates with the luxurious interiors. Additionally, relocating the ventilation ducts has allowed for full-glazing on the port side of the main saloon, offering unobstructed views of the ocean.

Powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines, "Astera" is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 17 knots. This performance is paired with a lightweight aluminium displacement build, ensuring efficient navigation across vast distances. Such technical specifications place the DOM 133 series among the best in its class for those who prioritize both speed and stability in their maritime ventures.

Baglietto's Expanding Horizons

With a rich history in yacht building, Baglietto operates out of two main sites in La Spezia and Carrara, where it has recently expanded its facilities. The La Spezia site has been significantly enhanced to support the construction of yachts up to 65 meters in length and features new docks that can accommodate vessels up to 70 meters. The Carrara site is similarly equipped, focusing on both luxury yachts and military craft under the BAGLIETTO NAVY brand.

Additionally, Baglietto is extending its expertise into the design and construction of smaller, high-performance yachts through the launch of Bertram's Italian line, which includes a 35-footer and a 39-footer.

The launch of "Astera" by Baglietto not only marks another milestone in the DOM 133 series but also highlights the shipbuilder's ongoing innovation in the luxury yacht industry. With its blend of advanced engineering, customer-focused design, and luxurious amenities, Baglietto continues to set new standards, confirming its place at the forefront of yacht design and construction. As "Astera" takes to the seas, it carries with it the legacy and future ambition of one of Italy's most storied shipyards, poised to leave an indelible mark on the international yachting scene.
