The Azimut Grande 140, a unique yacht design and a haven of privacy

The Azimut Grande 140 has changed the world of yachting, with a boat that is big on comfort, where guest and crew areas are entirely separate to create a haven of privacy in comfortable exteriors and in stylish interiors

The new hull is the result of a design and development process that began with preliminary drawings of the hull geometry, continued with computational fluid dynamic simulations and was concluded with a huge set of tank tests (both towing and self-propulsion tank tests) at the Brodarski Institut in Zagreb. During this last stage of hull validation on a scale model in the test tank, a set of self-propulsion tests was performed in order to investigate total propulsive efficiency, relative velocity and dynamic attitude performance. Unlike conventional hard-chine hulls with the same displacement and main dimensions, the hull reduces wave resistance significantly, improving the yacht's fuel consumption, range and final efficiency.

The sun deck is a penthouse suite at sea, a platform between the wind and sun, protected by a hard top featuring a fin in two segments. The deck is ideal for installing a Jacuzzi between the two sun pads.

The bar has a bar service and a dining area is situated below the hard top. On the upper deck, the open air terrace is extremely spacious. Two L-shaped sofas separate the stern area, so guests can enjoy sea views from the dining area, which has been designed to accommodate a table to seat up to twelve guests.

At the bow, on the upper deck, a large sun deck area features sofas, a sun pad and jacuzzi for the privacy of guests, even during mooring or anchoring, while at the main deck the stern area includes a folding platform, a unique feature in this category. When opened, the platform creates a beach area extending into the sea, with a bar making it even more enjoyable.
