The spirit of individuality and realizing a dream - this is what Royal Huisman of The Netherlands promises its astute clientele. And they were remarkably successful in delivering Aquarius, a classic ketch 56m/184’ luxury sailing yacht. The Owner’s are an American couple who desired a yacht that was comfortable for cruising with their family and friends. Also included in their brief was a vessel well suited for Bucket regatta racing. While Aquarius looks beautiful while cruising through calm waters, she is fierce when her sails are full and the sun and waves splash upon her sailors’ faces. The naval architecture was by Dykstra Naval Architects and interior design by Mark Whiteley Design.
Aquarius accommodates eight guests and eleven crew members. The Owner’s will enjoy a split-level master suite that comes with a private deckhouse and cockpit. There are three ensuite guest cabins where one is designated as the bunk room. This room will be filled with laughter as happy guests settle in to begin a marvelous sailing adventure. It has twin beds that convert to a queen size and includes a set of Pullmans. A fully equipped gym ensures everyone will stay fit and also provides a Pullman. A large deck saloon, media room and stowage for toys are expertly arranged into the layout of the yacht. A 6.2 jet drive tender and Aero sailing boat will provide hours of fun. Aquarius has two Rondal masts where an interesting mizzen mast rests on a circular skylight above the Owner’s suite. Her white sails are magnificent and when viewing against the blue sky and water, you are drawn into her beauty. The interior design is approached using simple elegance and feature raised and fielded white painted paneling trimmed with fine varnished timber. Her dark hull is slender with long overhangs. Aquarius is absolutely stunning with quality and finish unmatched.
