On November 30th, 2018, Benetti was proud to announce the successful launch of a 63-meter custom yacht named “Metis.” As has traditionally been the case with Benetti—the oldest custom yacht builder in all of Italy—this particular watercraft was highly customized and had a considerable amount of input from the owner.
In the words of Benetti CEO Franco Fusignani, “While every launch is the source of great pride for us, ‘Metis’ represents something special: her owner, together with Yacht Moments, allows us to enhance our presence in the strategically important German market.” Considering that Germany has the largest population of any country located entirely in Europe, Benetti’s conscious effort to expand into this lucrative market is certainly no surprise.
Balancing Customization with Tradition
Perhaps the greatest attribute of Benetti is their unique ability to blend their extensive experience as shipbuilders with the active desires of each new client. In fact, in the words of the owner, “Benetti has confirmed its international yacht building reputation for excellence in quality and reliability. The shipyard has successfully interpreted my desires and needs to perfection.”
Perfection, as demonstrated by Metis’ incredible grace and beauty, seems to be the operative word that motivated this disciplined team throughout the course of the design process. No detail was overlooked, no essential features were excluded, and the ship itself contains a sort of transcendental harmony that only an experienced firm such as Benetti can provide.
Maximizing Space and Features
At 63 meters, Metis is smaller than some of Benetti’s other recent projects (such as FB277), but do not let that fool you—this incredible ship is still quite large (a technical mega-yacht). Still, even given her size, the number of personal features the design team was able to incorporate is still quite impressive.
As you explore the five decks of this ship, you will find a customized gym, multiple outdoor spaces, a beach club, a luxurious lounge area, a massive owner’s apartment, and numerous other sources of excellence. Teaming up with Giorgio M. Cassetta Design and Bannenberg & Rowell helped create the final product. With the owner standing on the upper deck, enjoy an “unprecedented” panoramic view of the ocean, it becomes obvious that the design efforts were a clear and total success.
Launching into Global Markets
As stated, one of the proudest components of this design process was Benetti’s extension into the lucrative German market. However, due to the company’s impressive history and commanding presence in the shipbuilding industry, it seems that this is really only just the beginning.
Though there is truly no telling what the future may have in store, Benetti will likely continue its expansion and build more yachts to be delivered around the world. Whether these yachts will be built for elsewhere in Europe, the Americas, Asia, or anywhere else, neither quality nor the commitment to customization will ever be sacrificed.
