Ferrari F8 Spider Review

The Ferrari F8 Spider, an incredible supercar

The Ferrari F8 Spider is the latest incarnation from the supercar maker to carry the Spider nametag, and it’s a thrilling creation.

This is the soft-top alternative to the impressive F8 Tributo hardtop - and a replacement for the much-loved 488 Spider - and the newcomer matches it for style, speed, and acceleration.

Indeed, this is a Prancing Horse that has a hair-raising 710bhp available to help deliver another strong offering with a unique vocal soundtrack for fans of Ferrari’s mid-engine heritage to enjoy.

The roof is simplicity itself to raise and takedown and divides impressively into two parts and is stowed directly on top of the F8 Spider’s engine.

Enjoy a dash along the French Riviera.

It takes around 14 seconds to reappear or retract, and drivers can do this at speeds of up to 20 mph which makes the car the ideal companion for those enjoying a dash along the French Riviera or in the Florida sunshine.

Alongside the folding hardtop roof, the F8 Spider’s designers have also redesigned the rear deck so it’s completely flat, and the car has a pair of B-pillars added. The rear spoiler has also been altered too and is now bigger and reaches around to the taillights.

There is also a new pair of wings emerging from the car’s middle to sit just in front of the new engine cover.

And though the Ferrari designers have created an iconic and bold-looking supercar, it may not meet with approval from Ferrari aficionados everywhere, but it is undoubtedly a Ferrari with slim

LED headlights and an S-duct that sits above the sculpted front apron.

Ferrari says that its latest offering is 10% more aerodynamically efficient than the 488 Spider - part of this is down to a large rear vent that feeds from behind the front door.

Interior of the F8 Spider

For Ferrari lovers, the interior of the F8 Spider will be familiar and it’s a driver-orientated cockpit that is very comfortable with new sculpted seats to cosset the driver and passenger, regardless of what the car is doing.

With its exceptional handling and performance, this is a rewarding driving experience that excels in its handling dynamics and a surprising level of in-car comfort.

There’s no central infotainment touchscreen instead, the driver has a part-digital instrument panel to enjoy, and there’s the option of a 7-inch touchscreen display for the passenger side.
