A Dreamy and Curious Celebration
Some creations turn a light on, illuminating your dreams and inviting you to see the striking beauty of the world – M/Y Luminosity is one of these – enchanting all with her shining grace. The Owner started working at the project with Zaniz Studio and only in a second moment, when the design vision was already laid out, the Owner found in Benetti the ideal shipyard to build his dream yacht. Perhaps the result will be a floating forest, a moon lounge, or a complete dance of light and shape, where an ocean bound palace becomes a living breathing sculpture.
While M/Y Luminosity earns endless accolades for being an environmentally friendly green machine with its hybrid propulsion system and endless natural elements, what is the most striking about this 107-meter yacht is the fact that it was designed from the outside in. A rarity in the world of superyachts, this dreamboat was the results of a joint work of the Owner and Zaniz Jakuboski perfectly executed by Benetti since the beginning and made an incredible splash on the world. The exterior of the six-deck ship was a collaborative effort between Reymond Langton, Giorgio M Cassetta, and Zaniz Studio. The interior is all Zaniz Jakubowski. Boasting no less than 12 staterooms and space for 27 guests and 37 crew, life upon M/Y Luminosity is like wandering through one of the world’s most enchanting interactive art museums.
A Palace of Light and Play
From the second you set eyes on M/Y Luminosity you know this is going to be no ordinary yacht experience. Strong angles and lines gift this ship an architectural shape not often seen on the water. Gone are any hints of soft curves and instead an endless array of glistening windows wraps around the ship spanning an impressive 800 sqm and inviting all shades of light to spill right into the living space. On the main deck the windows soar to a staggering 3 meters, creating cavernous yet cozy rooms that match your mood to the elements, keeping wonder and whimsy weighted by the ever-present melody of the ocean. The straight bow and sprawling forward deck further cements that relationship with the watery landscape outside the window, keeping you connected with every slip of land, every wandering cloud, and every slant of sunlight scattering gold upon the sea.
From the second you step onboard M/Y Luminosity you are greeted with an 18m video wall that stretches out and down across the main stairwell seeping into all six-decks. It always features a forest landscape with butterflies during day, and fireflies at night. Upon request the video can be turned off. Framed by shining steel features, the promise of nature's presence is felt almost immediately. This commitment to weaving nature, history, and heritage of land and sea continues throughout – from the seafaring beauty of the Boca do Lobo Portuguese tiles in the cabinetry to the abundance of natural light, the sculpted white magnolia flowers that bloom in technological grace on the aft wall of the main lounge – it’s a beautiful rendering of modern technology meets the natural world. Another tour de force feature has to be the staggering glass stairwell with its glass box elevator. Traveling from floor to floor has never been so charming as the video displays invite butterflies or fireflies to flit away and the trees to whisper and rustle like falling into the pages of a storybook.
