Acala has been commissioned by an experienced yachtsman who, despite collaborating on projects with numerous other shipyards, has become a repeat client for CDM. Encapsulating the design vision in a comprehensive and intricate design, Acala may be the smallest 80-meter yacht ever built - so joked CDMs co-founder Vasco Buonpensiere.
The yacht’s eye-catching and conspicuous lines are the work of Horacio Bozzo Design, who breathed life into the Owner’s vision.
Part luxury vessel, part explorers yacht, Acala wraps the sharply lined and heavily windowed superstructure around generous living accommodations. Designed for round the world cruising, the roomy interiors encompass luxury social areas and generous guest quarters spread out over three decks. The addition of a sun deck creates even more exterior space and an intimate salon, and a panoramic sky lounge with dining area creates the perfect space for entertainment and relaxation. An oversized cockpit features more dining and lounging areas and the swimming pool provided lots of space to sunbathe or relax.
The interior is luxurious while being refined and relaxing at the same time. Mexican architect Simon Hamui creates an interior that lends itself to all occasions, whether formal or informal, and the use of lighting, shapes, and lines create an ambiance of subtle and sublime tranquility. Guest rooms are housed on the main deck with an extremely comfortable light-flooded owner’s suite and guest cabins. Two VIP suites have been carefully styled to maximize space and comfort, providing a peaceful and private retreat, and two additional twin cabins are located to the lower deck.
62 400-liter fuel tanks and twin engines will give Acala a range of 4000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots, and she can reach top speeds of 14 knots. The yacht’s impressive engine room is housed on the lower deck along with five roomy crew cabins. A generously sized lazarette holds water toys, inflatables, and diving equipment that can be retrieved as needed while at sea or anchor.
