Nautor’s Swan 120 Sailing Yacht: Formidable Racer and Stylish Cruiser
When Nautor’s Swan releases a new yacht, it is truly an occasion worth celebrating. When Germán Frers puts down the lines defining that yacht, wonderful things are about to happen. When Misa Poggi applies the finishing interior touches, it’s the icing on the cake, so to speak. There is simply no comparison in the field of high quality, high performance, beautiful, safe, comfortable sailing yachts. NAVIS Magazine presents to our readers The Nautor’s Swan 120 as the ideal choice for clean, comfortable, authoritative sailing. Here’s why.
The Nautor’s Swan Brand
Nautor’s Swan brings hundreds of years of Finnish boatbuilding tradition and expertise to the largest Maxi in their fleet, the 120. Displaying all of founder Pekka Koskenkyla’s vision in the firm’s early days of the 1960s for building high-performance, high-quality sailing yachts, more modern refinements embracing style, safety, and comfort have joined Nautor’s list to earn a revered place for Swan yachts in every true sailor’s heart.
Winter in Pietarsaari, Finland, where Nautor’s Swans are built, brings -30°C temperatures that keep water solidly frozen for five months. That gives Nautor’s teams a good chunk of time to complete intensive indoor work on current builds. As the landscape thaws, new launches make frequent appearances for testing. If there is any environment where issues are highlighted, this is the one.
From concept to delivery, every Nautor’s Swan completes a fully integrated build process, taking advantage of the BTC, an advanced Boatbuilding Technology Center. There, new joinery, high-tech lamination, post curing oven, painting, grinding, and polishing halls, and space for warehousing and logistics streamline manufacturing and upgrade production.
With the 120, Nautor’s strengths in construction techniques, materials, innovative solutions, and forward-thinking are fully on display in a beautifully-crafted boat suited equally for racing and leisure cruising.
