Celebrating Nautical Heritage

Feadship's 10th Annual Rendezvous Leaves an Imprint on Haarlem and Amsterdam.

As a beacon of classic luxury, Feadship's vessels never fail to turn heads. From the 16th to the 18th of June, enthusiasts and spectators lining the quayside in Haarlem and Amsterdam were graced with an unforgettable sight: an impressive fleet of Feadship's classic vessels, all over thirty years old, parading in proud unity. This spectacle marked the 10th Feadship Heritage Fleet Rendezvous, an annual event that brings together proud owners of these timeless gems.

For three days, the Netherlands' charming waterways resonated with the spirit of nautical heritage. This year's event put Feadship's exemplary construction standards into the limelight and paid homage to the diligent owners who painstakingly maintain these stunning vessels.

Feadship's Heritage Fleet has a unique purpose: to celebrate and promote Feadship’s longstanding yachting legacy. Members of this exclusive group are united by their shared love for these exceptional creations, brought together through engaging events and services.

The 10th Rendezvous was special indeed, serving as a tribute to Frits de Voogt, the legendary naval architect whose designs were on full display. The fleet that graced Haarlem's picturesque quay ranged from 5.5 to 18.47 meters in size, an impressive display of Feadship's incredible versatility over the decades.

The celebrations started in style with a speech from Haarlem's mayor, Jos Wienen, commending Mr. De Voogt for his seminal role in Feadship's history as the head of De Voogt Naval Architects from 1960 to 1995. Even the oldest yacht present, at ninety years old, fell short of the venerable 96-year-old De Voogt.

The festivities continued as the classic yachts journeyed through the locks of Spaarnedam, a quaint fishing village, to the vibrant city of Amsterdam. They were steeped in the city's rich shipbuilding culture, visiting historic sites like the former Dutch East Indian Company headquarters and the UNESCO-protected canals.

The Feadship Heritage Fleet, boasting nearly one hundred classic yachts, serves as an eloquent ambassador for Feadship's enduring reputation. The presence of prominent figures like the mayor, Mr. De Voogt, and Feadship’s senior-most partners underscored the event's significance.

Looking to next year, anticipation is already building for the 11th Rendezvous. And as Feadship's community continues to grow, so too does the anticipation of yacht enthusiasts worldwide.
