Zwartsluis, Netherlands – Vitters Shipyard has announced the successful launch of Magic, a 44-meter luxury sailing yacht that exemplifies cutting-edge design and advanced engineering. After 30 months of meticulous construction, Magic emerged from the yard’s facilities on January 3, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the Dutch shipbuilder’s portfolio.
Designed in collaboration with Reichel/Pugh Naval Architects and Design Unlimited, with interior styling by Pieter Laureys, Magic embodies modern sophistication while offering optimal performance. Her striking lines, combined with an emphasis on onboard comfort, reflect Vitters Shipyard's dedication to creating yachts that meet the demands of discerning owners.
Launch Milestones
On January 7, Magic took to the waters in Amsterdam, a key phase in her journey to completion. This was followed by the stepping of her impressive 62-meter Southern Spars rig on January 8. The launch has paved the way for sea trials and final commissioning in Amsterdam, with delivery scheduled for February 2025.
A Design Focused on Performance and Comfort
Magic is a modern cruising sloop with a length of 44 meters, a beam of 9.66 meters, and a draft of 4.8 meters thanks to her fixed keel. Her hydrodynamic hull design ensures both speed and stability, making her equally suited for competitive sailing and leisurely cruising.
Her exterior design emphasizes clean lines and functionality, with ample use of glass to create a panoramic visual experience. The covered main cockpit offers protection in varying weather conditions, while the expansive aft deck provides generous space for relaxation. Notably, the transom hatch reveals a convertible beach club, enhancing Magic’s versatility for onboard enjoyment.
The vessel accommodates 10 guests across luxuriously appointed cabins, including a full-beam master suite aft, and provides space for a professional crew of seven. The interior, crafted by List, seamlessly blends contemporary design elements with practical functionality, offering an inviting and sophisticated living environment.
Innovative Engineering and Sustainability
Beneath her sleek exterior lies a range of innovative engineering features. Magic is powered by a conventional drivetrain with a controllable pitch propeller (CPP), ensuring efficient propulsion. The yacht is equipped with a robust battery bank that allows for up to eight hours of silent operation, minimizing environmental impact.
Vitters Shipyard has incorporated advanced hydraulic systems into Magic, including in-house-engineered deck winches, furlers, and tensioners. These systems enhance the yacht’s operational efficiency, ensuring smooth handling under sail. The addition of dual submarine anchors provides a clutter-free foredeck, complementing her streamlined aesthetic.
Mediterranean Bound and Listed for Sale
Following her delivery in February, Magic will head to the Mediterranean, where she is expected to capture attention in some of the region’s most coveted cruising grounds. Notably, her current owner has listed her for sale, presenting a rare opportunity for potential buyers to acquire a state-of-the-art Vitters yacht.
