Sleek Starlink-Integrated Design and Advanced Naval Architecture
Feadship, a globally recognized leader in custom superyacht construction, has marked a significant milestone by unveiling the 101-metre Moonrise, the latest addition to its portfolio of luxury vessels. The yacht, which recently exited the shed at the Feadship facility in Makkum, Netherlands, is a reimagined evolution of the 2020-built Moonrise, retaining the refined design DNA of its predecessor while introducing a host of innovations in aesthetics, comfort, and performance.
With an overall length of 101 meters (331 feet) and a beam of 15.5 meters (50 feet), the new Moonrise exemplifies the brand’s forward-thinking approach to naval architecture and bespoke design. While the vessel maintains its signature lines by Studio De Voogt and interiors by Rémi Tessier, it sets a new standard through technological enhancements, reconfigured outdoor spaces, and an innovative superstructure free of the typical satellite domes.
A defining exterior feature of the new Moonrise is its uninterrupted silhouette, which is achieved by integrating Starlink satellite receivers directly into the superstructure. This design move eliminates the need for visible domes traditionally used to house VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) and TVRO (Television Receive-Only) antennas. The previous Moonrise had five such domes, but their absence on the new model enhances the yacht’s streamlined appearance, setting a benchmark in superyacht design minimalism.
In addition to its cleaner lines, the yacht features a taller mast and extended sun deck, incorporating wellness-focused amenities such as a massage area, gym, and hairdressing salon. The yacht’s exterior decks have also been lengthened, offering more generous outdoor spaces for entertainment and relaxation. A spacious swim platform provides direct access to the sea, reinforcing the vessel’s appeal for water-based leisure.
The interior of Moonrise, curated again by renowned designer Rémi Tessier, remains closely guarded in detail but is expected to showcase the same level of elegance and bespoke craftsmanship that defined the 2020 version. Among the confirmed highlights are a private cinema on the bridge deck and a dedicated owner’s deck, designed to enhance the onboard living experience.
While the design philosophy leans toward understated luxury, the execution reflects Feadship’s precision and the owner’s personalized preferences, tailored through close collaboration with the design team.
Advanced Naval Architecture and Noise Reduction
Beyond aesthetics, Moonrise is committed to elevating onboard comfort and sustainability through engineering advancements. The yacht’s naval architecture, developed by Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects, has been meticulously refined to deliver optimal stability and comfort, whether cruising at sea or anchoring.
Significant attention was devoted to minimizing both underwater and internal noise. This has been achieved through innovations such as specially designed propellers and appendages that reduce acoustic output. Moreover, Moonrise has a fully resilient-mounted anchor winch foundation — the first known in the industry — which further suppresses vibration and sound while featuring optimized chain routing to ensure operational efficiency.
Following its shed exit, Moonrise has entered the outfitting phase, during which the finishing touches will be applied to its interiors, systems, and onboard amenities. Sea trials are scheduled in the coming months, after which the vessel will be delivered to its owner.
As a twin-screw motor yacht with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, Moonrise represents Feadship’s dedication to quality and adaptability to emerging technologies and client demands. The yacht’s debut solidifies the shipyard’s position at the forefront of superyacht design, delivering a vessel that balances timeless elegance with future-facing innovation.

A Benchmark in Superyacht Evolution
The relaunch of Moonrise underscores Feadship’s strategic approach to blending innovation with proven design. By retaining core elements that made the original Moonrise widely admired while incorporating forward-thinking features — such as integrated satellite technology and silent operations — the shipyard continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in large yacht construction.
For those closely following the progression of bespoke yacht design, Moonrise is more than a successor — it is a clear marker of evolution in form, function, and luxury.
