Mangusta Launches Fourth Unit of Oceano 44 on International Women’s Day

Refined design meets ocean-crossing capability in Mangusta’s latest tri-deck masterpiece.

Mangusta has officially launched the fourth unit of its acclaimed Mangusta Oceano 44 line, marking another milestone in the evolution of long-range luxury yachting. The launch took place on March 8, 2025, aligning with International Women’s Day, a symbolic choice that echoes the vessel’s elegant and bold personality. Built for a European owner, this 44-meter steel and aluminum tri-deck yacht is now ready to explore the Mediterranean.

Crafted by the Overmarine Group in collaboration with Alberto Mancini and P.L.A.N.A. Design, the Mangusta Oceano 44 is part of the shipyard’s long-range displacement line. It is a yacht engineered for transoceanic journeys without compromising aesthetics or onboard comfort. Unit four continues this legacy by combining high-end craftsmanship with state-of-the-art marine technology.

At 44 meters in length, the Oceano 44 offers a balance of range, efficiency, and performance. Its steel hull and aluminum superstructure enable a range of 4,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots. The yacht is capable of reaching speeds up to 15.5 knots. Equipped with zero-speed and underway electric stabilizers, the vessel delivers a smooth experience in all sea conditions, ensuring optimal comfort at anchor or cruising.

Visually, the yacht embraces a modernist philosophy, combining expansive glass surfaces with clean architectural lines. The interior and exterior spaces are thoughtfully integrated through floor-to-ceiling windows that invite light and panoramic views. The superstructure is designed to function as a floating loft, where every design element balances form and function.

The interiors of Unit Four have been fully customized by the Mangusta in-house design team, working in collaboration with Gianluca Sist of H2 Yacht Design. Materials like fine wood and marble are used in a minimalist palette, creating a seamless transition between social areas and private suites. The master stateroom features ocean-facing views and a layout focused on privacy and well-being. All guest cabins reflect the same design language, offering consistent ambiance and comfort across the vessel.

One of the most striking features is the 104-square-meter sundeck, which has been created to host open-air gatherings with uninterrupted ocean views. The main deck beach area serves as the social heart of the yacht. When the transom opens and the side terraces fold out, it transforms into a 180-degree sea-level platform that blends beautifully with the surrounding seascape.

Functionality continues to the bridge, where the wheelhouse has wraparound glazing to ensure maximum visibility. This innovation enhances navigation while creating a sense of openness for the captain and crew.

The sale of Unit Four was facilitated through a close collaboration with Camper & Nicholsons, represented by Gaston Lees-Buckley, who oversaw the construction process from start to finish. The result is a yacht that exemplifies both technical excellence and aesthetic integrity, tailored to the needs and lifestyle of a discerning European client.

This launch reinforces Mangusta’s stature as a global leader in custom yacht construction. Since its foundation in 1985 by the Balducci family, the Overmarine Group has delivered more than 320 yachts, 110 of which are over 100 feet long. Today, the shipyard operates from ten sites across Tuscany, with a manufacturing footprint of more than 210,000 square meters and more than 600 workers involved in every aspect of production.

Now led by siblings Maurizio and Katia Balducci, with the next generation represented by Victoria Balducci, Overmarine continues to blend tradition with innovation. Each yacht built under the Mangusta name reflects the Group’s enduring focus on quality, customization, and Italian maritime heritage.

The Mangusta Oceano 44 sits at the intersection of design and functionality. Unit Four is a powerful example of how personalized luxury can coexist with long-range capability. As she begins her voyages across the Mediterranean, she carries a legacy shaped by decades of excellence and forward-thinking design.
