Heesen Yachts has unveiled Project Agnetha (YN 20955), the latest model in its proven 55-metre Steel Class. Designed for owners seeking both seaworthiness and immediate delivery, Agnetha is now available and ready for summer 2025 cruising. Combining a steel Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF), sharp exterior styling from Omega Architects, and warm, personalisable interiors by Luca Dini Design and Architecture, Agnetha positions itself as a strong contender in the 50-metre-plus segment.
At 55 meters in length and with a gross tonnage of 760 GT, Project Agnetha builds on the established technical platform of her predecessors in the Steel Class while refining aesthetics, performance, and onboard experience. Her hull, developed by Heesen's in-house engineering team, ensures excellent fuel efficiency across a wide speed range and delivers a top speed of 15.5 knots, powered by twin MTU 8V4000 M63 engines compliant with IMO Tier III regulations.
Contemporary Exterior Design by Omega Architects
Project Agnetha's exterior was crafted by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, continuing a longstanding collaboration with Heesen. The design employs bold horizontal lines that enhance visual length and balance the yacht’s proportions. One of the standout elements is the distinctive “shark tooth” motif integrated into the wheelhouse overhang, a visual signature that underscores the yacht’s forward-leaning design language.
The superstructure architecture has been revised for Agnetha to eliminate the need for traditional fashion plates aft. This adjustment creates a cleaner silhouette and a pillar-free aft section, allowing for seamless transitions between interior and exterior spaces. Expanses of tinted glass along the main and upper decks contribute to a bright interior while maintaining privacy. Window mullions are notably absent in the main deck dining area, expanding panoramic visibility and reinforcing a connection with the surrounding seascape.
Engineering for Global Cruising
The Fast Displacement Hull Form, a Heesen hallmark, provides a smooth and efficient ride at all speeds. Developed to ensure stability and comfort in varied sea conditions, the hull form contributes to reduced fuel burn, enhancing range without compromising performance.
Project Agnetha’s seakeeping and fuel efficiency suit her for a wide range of itineraries, from Mediterranean island-hopping to extended Atlantic crossings. The platform is engineered to operate reliably under heavy usage, ensuring low-maintenance ownership with proven reliability.
Interior by Luca Dini: Tradition, Comfort, and Flexibility
Luca Dini Design and Architecture envisioned the yacht's interior, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere with materials and finishes inspired by classical themes. Light wood veneers, refined metals, and a palette of soft, earthy tones create a traditional ambiance without compromising modern comfort.
At the heart of the interior is an 86-square-metre owner's suite on the main forward deck. It includes a private lounge, study, his and hers dressing areas, and a veranda on the starboard side that opens to the sea. Four guest cabins on the lower deck offer spacious accommodations, while a VIP suite on the bridge deck ensures privacy and elevated views.
Lead architect Silvia Margutti highlights the degree of flexibility within the established layout: “We have prepared several interior proposals to demonstrate how different lighting schemes, furniture selections, and decorative touches can continue to transform the space. Even with a structure, the interior remains a dynamic canvas for owner personalisation.”
The yacht accommodates 12 guests and is supported by a professional crew of 13. The layout has been optimised for both private family use and charter activity, offering versatility and comfort for longer stays at sea.
A Proven Platform for Fast Delivery
Heesen’s approach to speculative yacht construction continues to set industry standards. With Project Agnetha, the shipyard applies over a decade of experience in platform development, particularly in the 50- to 57-metre segment. The strategy enables reduced delivery timelines while maintaining the ability for bespoke fit-out and personalisation.
Niels Vaessen, CEO of Heesen Yachts, notes that the Steel Class continues to evolve: “We have spent the last ten years refining our approach to building reliable yachts on proven platforms. This has allowed us to optimise the supply chain and streamline production without sacrificing the craftsmanship and technical excellence Heesen is known for.”
Ruud van der Stroom, Heesen’s Chief Commercial Officer, adds: “Agnetha offers a unique opportunity for owners seeking a Dutch-built yacht with immediate availability. She combines the reliability of a perfected platform with the flexibility to tailor the interior. Agnetha is ready for a client seeking a well-engineered, stylish yacht to enjoy this summer.”
Availability and Market Position
Project Agnetha is the only 55-metre Dutch steel motor yacht available for delivery within the 2025 summer cruising window. Her launch strengthens Heesen’s position in the mid-sized superyacht market, which continues to see increasing demand for fast-track builds that balance quality, personalisation, and technical sophistication.
With a refined blend of engineering, comfort, and aesthetic finesse, Project Agnetha offers a complete package for owners prioritizing rapid delivery without compromising build integrity or creative input. At the intersection of innovation and tradition, Agnetha is ready to embark on global voyages or serve as a luxurious summer retreat.
