Mangusta GranSport 33 Unit #11 Launches in Italy

The Overmarine Group has announced the successful launch of the eleventh unit in its acclaimed Mangusta GranSport 33 series. On March 22, 2025, the new 33-meter yacht touched the water at the group’s shipyard in Viareggio, reinforcing the enduring appeal of this model within the Mangusta fleet and marking another milestone for the Italian yachting powerhouse.

Since its debut, the Mangusta GranSport 33 has gained recognition for delivering a compelling mix of speed, range, and luxury within a compact superyacht format. The latest launch underscores the continued market success of a model that has proven its appeal to owners seeking performance and style in a highly customizable package.

The GranSport 33 is the smallest model in the GranSport line but boasts capabilities typically reserved for larger vessels. Designed through the ongoing collaboration between renowned Italian designer Alberto Mancini and Overmarine’s in-house engineering team, this yacht integrates advanced technology with meticulous attention to craftsmanship. The result is a 33-meter vessel that meets the demands of discerning owners who prioritize comfort, agility, and aesthetics.

This particular unit was commissioned by an Italian owner who plans to cruise throughout the Mediterranean. It offers a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor living spaces, optimized for relaxation and socializing whether at anchor or underway. The yacht’s sleek profile and open deck layout are accentuated by wide glazing that invites natural light and uninterrupted sea views from virtually every angle.

Four Volvo Penta engines are at the heart of the yacht’s performance, each delivering 735 kilowatts (1,000 horsepower), paired with IPS (Inboard Performance System) pods. This propulsion setup is engineered for precise handling, lower fuel consumption, and minimized vibration and noise. Capable of reaching top speeds of 25 knots, the GranSport 33 also provides a range suited for longer passages, giving owners the freedom to explore with confidence.

The layout of the yacht emphasizes both functionality and indulgence. On the main deck, the full-beam owner’s suite spans 40 square meters (approximately 435 square feet), offering expansive views and direct access to the exterior. Below deck, the accommodations include two VIP cabins and two guest cabins, all designed to reflect Mangusta’s signature balance of elegance and livability.

One of the defining features of the GranSport 33 is its outdoor living configuration. The 56-square-meter (600 square feet) sundeck connects seamlessly to the foredeck, which includes an infinity pool and a dedicated sunbathing area. These interconnected spaces allow for flexible usage throughout the day, whether for lounging, entertaining, or enjoying panoramic views while underway.

Mangusta’s commitment to delivering tailor-made yachts is evident in the level of personalization offered to each client. From layout adjustments to interior décor, each unit in the GranSport line is refined to reflect the owner’s vision while maintaining the yacht’s technical integrity and performance standards.

With over 320 yachts launched to date and 110 exceeding 100 feet, Overmarine Group has cemented its reputation as one of Italy’s premier yacht builders. Founded in 1985 by the Balducci family, the group draws on a heritage of artisanal shipbuilding that dates back to the 1960s. Today, the company operates out of ten production sites across Tuscany, with a total manufacturing area of more than 210,000 square meters.

The family-run business is now led by the second generation, Maurizio and Katia Balducci, and the third generation, Victoria Balducci, who will be joining the company in 2021. Under their guidance, the brand continues to evolve while maintaining its deep roots in Italian craftsmanship and design excellence.

Overmarine Group offers three distinct yacht lines to cater to a broad spectrum of yachting lifestyles. These include the Mangusta Maxi Open REV for high-speed cruising, the Mangusta Oceano for long-range exploration, and the Mangusta GranSport for owners seeking a balance between fast cruising and generous onboard comfort.

The launch of Unit #11 adds to the growing legacy of the GranSport 33 and sets the tone for a landmark year for Overmarine. 2025 the shipyard celebrates its 40th anniversary in luxury yacht construction, marking four decades of innovation and global recognition in the yachting industry.

With each new delivery, Overmarine redefines what is possible in the semi-custom yacht segment. The Mangusta GranSport 33 remains a prime example of the group’s ability to combine forward-thinking design with the enduring values of the Italian shipbuilding tradition.
