Within the greater yachting community, there is no doubt that Benetti’s famous “Giga Season” is one of the most exciting times of the year. During Giga Season, yacht enthusiasts of all kinds will have an opportunity to witness some of the largest and most spectacular yachts in the industry. It is not unusual for this remarkable time of the year to leave profound impacts on other shipbuilders all around the world.

As one of the world’s leading shipyards specializing in “high-quality carbon fibre (sic) custom yachts,” there is no denying that the development of any new Baltic yacht is certainly an exciting occasion. However, even when compared to the usual enthusiasm that Baltic yachts can produce, the development of the Baltic 142 Canova has generated even more interest from shipbuilding enthusiasts around the world.

On November 30th, 2018, Benetti was proud to announce the successful launch of a 63-meter custom yacht named “Metis.” As has traditionally been the case with Benetti—the oldest custom yacht builder in all of Italy—this particular watercraft was highly customized and had a considerable amount of input from the owner.
In the words of Benetti CEO Franco Fusignani, “While every launch is the source of great pride for us, ‘Metis’ represents something special: her owner, together with Yacht Moments, allows us to enhance our presence in the strategically important German market.” Considering that Germany has the largest population of any country located entirely in Europe, Benetti’s conscious effort to expand into this lucrative market is certainly no surprise.

The name Najiba is a traditional name meaning noble. From the moment you lay eyes on Feadship’s newest yachting masterpiece, it becomes immediately apparent that this ship was appropriately named. As you examine every square inch, every careful choice, and every attention to detail, it is clear that Feadship maintains a strong sense of nobility regarding everything they create.

With the London Yacht Show rapidly approaching, an increasing number of brands are committing themselves to the show and building anticipation. The show, which will take place in London from May 9th through 11th, is expected to be much different from the show it is replacing in years past. Additionally, those who are able to secure VIP Elite passes will be able to enjoy a pre-show event that takes place on May 8th.

Preserving the Ocean: a priority goal

On the occasion of the third MONACO OCEAN WEEK to be held at the end of March, it was decided that a full day would be devoted to the 9th Environmental Symposium of the Yacht Club de Monaco, on the theme: "Yachting, Laboratory of the Future and Vehicle for the Preservation of the Ocean".

The Principality of Monaco has been committed to the preservation of the Ocean for more than a century. In 1911, Prince Albert 1st created the Institute of Oceanography after embarking on the first of his 28 oceanographic campaigns in 1885. In 2006, the international Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation was created. “To save our planet, to change a system that is gradually destroying it, we need all the ideas, all the determination and all the means that can be mobilized... It is our responsibility,” declared the Sovereign Prince Albert II.

As of December 2018, Benetti can be proud to say that they have successfully delivered yet another beautiful yacht to her owners. In a well-organized ceremony that the Italian company—which has been operating since 1873—has described as “charged with emotion”, the mega yacht was able to arrive in make its official debut without any problems.

At 93 meters long, Dutch shipbuilder Feadship’s new masterpiece is claimed to be “representing one of the largest yachts” they’ve ever built. Despite taking on such a challenging project, a close examination of what the team has been able to accomplish so far will reveal that the team has clearly been off to a very productive start.

On November 17th, 2018—from the beautiful port city of Alblasserdam, the Netherlands—Oceanco was proud to announce the spectacular launch of the 109 meter “Project Bravo.” Not only does this particular ship have an impressive size, structure, and inclusion of luxury features, but is also contains what the team has described as a “prime example of Oceanco’s new wave of forward-thinking yachts.”

Though it is certainly true that many of the world’s top shipbuilders seem to always be living up to high expectations, there are few others beside Benetti—a company operating since 1873—that the community places such an intense focus. The highly specialized company, operating all around the world, has committed itself to creating yachts that are not just good, but transcendentally brilliant.

For those who have been following the yachting community for very long, there is no doubt that Benetti’s self-titled “Giga Season” is one of the most exciting times of the year. As the name might imply, this is a time of the year where the team specifically focuses on constructing and launching “Giga” yachts that are more than 100 meters in length.

True to Perini Navi form, their chic and sleek 42-meter E-Volution sloop-rigged sailing yacht displays trendsetting innovations and style. This new look from Perini Navi caught the eye of an experienced Italian sailing enthusiast, prompting his purchase of the first hull. The buyer was attracted to the E-Volution’s combination of form and function, promising exceptional seakeeping, competitive blue water performance, abundant creature comforts, and top-of-industry tech.

Six stunning decks stretching along Lürssen’s latest launch give the owners of superyacht Tis every reason to celebrate. With nine gracious staterooms, Tis will beautifully carry 18 guests in posh superyacht style from the hand of London-based Andrew Winch Design.

One of the most massive yachts ever built by Feadship, the distinctive Lady S unveiled few of her gifts as she emerged from the Royal Van Kent facility in the Kaag yard on Oct. 19, 2018. With many details still unwrapped and undercover, onlookers were treated to long, powerful lines and distinctive marks like a circle punctuating the main deck glazing amidships. Gracefully allowing some overhead views and lovely long shots, Lady S, formerly Project 814, stretched out her 93 meters for the camera.

There will only ever be 40 units of this extremely limited model. The maximum speed is 380 km/h, shaving eight seconds from the Chiron’s time for a lap around the Nardò handling circuit. It boasts an eight-liter W16 engine and 1,500 PS power output. It sold out immediately. And the price? Five million Euros. We are talking about Bugatti’s latest pièce de résistance, the Divo.

As the summer months begin to come to a close, legendary yacht maker Baglietto was proud to announce yet another successful launch. The 48-meter Baglietto T-Line was successfully launched on August 1st and—as we have come to expect from this brilliant Italian enterprise—their commitment to quality, luxury, and detail remains unwavering.

Tankoa has firmly established itself as a namesake in the yachting industry and, naturally, there is no surprise that the company was able to successfully launch yet another ship—Solo—as of August 1st. This ship was the client’s second build with the company and was also the second yacht to be built with Tankoa’s 70/72 meter technical platform.

At 90 meters (295 feet) long, it is clear that Oceanco’s Project Shark would inevitably produce one of the most inclusive and luxurious yachts ever to grace the open ocean. Unsurprisingly, the amount of detail and effort that was put into designing each square inch of this beautiful ship was seemingly unprecedented.

On July 5th, the famous Dutch shipbuilder AMELS was proud to announce the successful delivery of the 57.7-meter Volpini. This beautiful work of art was built in accordance with the owner’s specific requests and is ready to begin her journeys exploring the Mediterranean Sea.

One of the reasons that this project has generated so much excitement is the fact that it is the first AMELS 188 design—one they hope to eventually produce more of. The yacht has a beautiful and sleek architecture characterized by ample window space and a variety of luxury amenities.

One of the most common pain points experienced by global travelers—particularly by those who spend much of their time moving between different locations—is having access to reliable internet. If you are someone who is frequently away from an area with a quality Wi-Fi connection, then you have probably noticed the pain you feel when you lose your connection with the outside world.
